Introducing Chittenango's New Varsity Coach

DeBlois assumes the head varsity coaching position after being the defensive coordinator at nearby Le Moyne College for a year.  While under DeBois' watch the stout Le Moyne defense ranked #1 nationally across all divisions for Goals Allowed at a meager 4.6 goals per game. Last year was also DeBlois' rookie year in the MLL during which he was in the starting rotation for the Rochester Rattlers.  He was selected 7th overall in the 2005 Supplemental Draft but chose not to play but rather focus on his career at Merrill Lynch. DeBlois spent 6 years working as a Government Bond trader then chose to return to Central New York to pursue a career in teaching and coaching. DeBlois graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cornell University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.  While at Cornell, DeBlois was named to the Dean’s List each of his eight semesters and was a member of the Quill and Dagger Honor Society, the President's 400 club and the Golden Key Honor Society. On the field for the Big Red, DeBlois was a 2004 Third Team All-American at defense and an Academic All-America selection, as well as being named a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy League First Team. A four-year starter at defense for the Big Red, DeBlois led the team’s defenders in ground balls (41) and posted three assists as a senior. A member of Cornell’s All-Decade Team, DeBlois registered nine points, while leading the Big Red to a record of 36-19 (18-6 in the Ivy League) and a share of the Ivy League Championship his final two seasons. DeBlois was named to the All-CNY, All-America and Academic All-America teams on the scholastic level at nearby Fayetteville-Manlius. A team captain for the Hornets, DeBlois won a gold medal playing for the Central Region in the Empire State Games.
